This is a fundraiser for Doaa, Mahmoud and their children. They are the committed parents of four children named Mesk, Mona, Mohammed and Abdullah. Doaa’s family have been displaced over ten times since the beginning of the war and suffer from physical and emotional exhaustion due to the brutality of the occupation. As their workplaces were destroyed, this fundraiser is their sole source of income, and is used to buy food and medicine at the extortionate prices manufactured by the siege.

Despite the accelerated brutality that the Palestinian people are facing, Doaa and Mahmoud continue to provide for their family. Doaa (who we’ve been contacting) speaks so highly of her children’s resilience in the face of displacement, destruction and the spread of disease. The occupation shut all borders to the Gaza Strip at the start of Ramadan, and this complete blockade from March 2nd has prevented anything from entering the Gaza Strip since, creating an intensified campaign of starvation, where any food left costs an actual fortune. Despite this, Doaa and Mahmoud’s survive every day with love and courage, despite the horrific conditions they face.

The extortionate food prices mean their family only have access to minimal ingredients, and are constantly innovating to survive. (See gallery for example prices). However, the lack of nourishment is causing medical emergencies for Doaa and Mahmoud’s children, who need money urgently for treatment, particularly bone and dental problems caused by complete calcium definicency. Supporting their family is even more urgent as the everyday burdens of the continued catastrophe are worsened by the occupation, who target and bombard hospitals, meaning Doaa’s family cannot access medical care, and must buy medication.

Our financial support would help Doaa and Mahmoud buy essentials like diapers and milk for their youngest son Abdullah. Since the closure of the crossing, the cost of diapers have now risen to $105. Abdullah was born during the war in a tent and suffered from chest infections since birth, and him and his brother Mohammed also both suffer from recurring bacterial infections that cause severe pain and high temperatures which need urgent treatment that is becoming increasingly unaffordable.

Before the war, Mahmoud was a mobile repair technician, and Doaa was a baker who made cakes for her community on special occasions. Doaa’s love for baking was passed down to her daughter, Mesk. The only chance since October 2023 that Mesk has had to use her baking talents was to fundraise for essential surgery, caused by calcium deficiency that led to her breaking her foot in September 2024. However, the complete siege from March 2nd means cooking is now done for survival only. The family has had one meal a day, where possible, since March. Doaa was hospitalised from the effects of starvation on her body, compounded by the exhausting long days in the Summer heat searching for any food left in the markets, which she affords through tireless fundraising through social media.

Mahmoud suffers from ear infections and needs surgery and Doaa requires corneal surgery as her vision continues to weaken causing intense headaches. Yet, as all funds raised have gone to daily surival and affording food and medicine to ease symptoms, these needed surgeries are far from the family’s priority. May this illustrate that, despite the illusion of the donation total on this page, these funds are have not stretched beyond immediate survival. In order to get cash in Gaza, people must go to a cashier, who take a ‘commission,’ which is now a 45% cut of the money. This is the only way to get funds for survival, but creates an unbearable burden of fundraising for Gazans, who must raise almost double what they need to afford anything. For example, this means the true amount Doaa has needed to raise for one packet of diapers is $200.

Doaa and Mahmoud’s family are currently displaced to Jabalia, in North Gaza. In the midst of grieving the martyring of neighbours and loved ones, and with the fear this brings for their own lives, the family consistently finds ways to bring each other joy. Baby Abdullah dances at the sirens which signal the ascension of martyrs, a truly heart wrenching sign of the way Doaa teaches her children to experience joy despite the brutality they and the Palestinian people endure, rooted in a love for each other, and for the land.

All funds go to getting Doaa and Mahmoud’s family the essential food and medicine for daily survival, for themselves, Misk, Mona, Mohammed, Abdullah and Mahmoud’s elderly Mother, who is 85 years old.

Update: Mesk and Mona have seen a dentist today (17/04/2025). They both suffer from severe pain due to malnutrition and calcium deficiency. Mesk’s molars are especially causing her intense pain as they are currently falling out due to infection. They urgently need dental care to resolve and ease these pains. With the cost of food and water being so high because of Zionist imposed shortages, we urgently need to raise funds to cover their medical cost!

Update (30/04/2025): Mesk has developed a skin condition covering most of her body, causing extreme discomfort. With some of the money donated, Doaa and Mahmoud were able to buy medicine to ease this, unfortunately, according to another doctor this wasn’t the correct treatment meaning that they have used a considerable amount of their recent income on an inefficient medicine and they are in urgent need of more donations to cover the cost of another treatment.

(This is the second fundraiser link set up for Doaa and Mahmoud’s family. The first one was made on GoFundMe https://www.gofundme.com/f/aide-humanitaire-a-gaza. Unfortunately, the family has lost access to funds raised meaning a second was set up.)

In the morning of Tuesday the 19th of August, baby Abdullah underwent surgery for the large infection threatening his life. He has a weakened immune system as a result of the occupation’s siege and starvation, making him incredibly ill, but because of the scale of brutality around them, hospital treatment was not an option – so Doaa’s family had to pay nearly $1000 for the life saving operation.

Without a moment of respite, that same afternoon, they were issued a terrifying evacuation order from Jabalia.

Abdullah’s illness had kept Doaa up through all of the nights as he cried in pain, making her beyond exhausted. Following the evacuation order, the nights became pure terror. In the family’s area, Jabalia al-Nazla, there were fire belts, with the occupation launching several strikes of launching missles all at once. Mohammed’s ears bled from the intensity of the noise. However, Doaa’s family faced this accelerated brutality with all the bravery in the world, messaging to say:

“The bombing was continuous and very violent, but we are steadfast and will not leave except in cases of extreme necessity.”

They could not sleep. The brutality in the area continued to escalate. More than ten homes were destroyed by missiles during the night, and Jabalia al-Nazla market in front of Doaa’s street completely emptied out after her street itself was bombed. Appeals were sent to residents in the area to wear masks or cover the nose and mouth, as booby-trapped detonating robots released toxic gases due to the occupation’s bombings. The risk to the family, especially given Abdullah’s illness, meant the case of extreme necessity was upon the family – and they were displaced.

The displacement journey has been incredibly expensive, as well as beyond exhausting and terrifying. It has cost $1,000 so far for transportation, food, drink and treatment for Abdullah. With the 38% commission taken by cashiers – which is the only system through which Gazans can access the cash needed to buy the essentials of life from the markets – meaning this cost in real terms is closer to $1,500. This is the cost of less than a week, to move the family just slightly across the North to Mahmoud’s family. The occupation’s threats to invade the north of Gaza mean a scale of brutality beyond the horrors the family have seen and survived before, and further displacement and terrifying danger is a very real possibility. To keep surviving this, they need large donations, so please give as generously as you can!

Doaa is diligent in her updates, and has taken the time despite her exhaustion to write this:

“Tomorrow I will take my child Abdullah to the doctor. His wound is still infected, and he is in a lot of pain because he did not recieve full treatment due to the lack of antibiotics. The occupation is deliberately preventing their entry. Even when the patient is infected, he dies. I will go to the doctor despite the danger and intense, continuous shelling, but I cannot leave my child, Abdullah, in pain and groanining in agony.”

“My child, Mohammed, is very sick with a high fever, coughing and vomiting. He hasn’t eaten anything for two days. He drinks only water.”

Doaa is suffering from this same flu, but always selflessly writes about and cares for her children first. They have had to do the exhausting journey of displacement whilst suffering from these illnesses, and cannot afford food to get them nutrition and respite because of the costs of being displaced. Therefore, she said:

“It is very difficult and harsh today. Mahmoud went to the deadly aid point so that we could get food and flour, but he could not get anything, because of the thieves who steal the food and sell it in the market.”

The costs of the displacement and the illness for the family is extortionate, and the family needs urgent donations to cover the costs of survival. Please donate what you can, urgently and generously, so Doaa’s family can afford food, medicine and the costs of transportation, as the family continues to stay steadfast in the North despite the displacement, and keep surviving on their land with love and courage.

All funds already given to this link have been used for the daily costs of survival, and more donations are urgently needed given the family’s situation! Thank you!

Update: (27/07/2025): Baby Abdullah has finally taken his first steps, mustering enough stregnth to stand despite the intensifying starvation imposed on Gazans by the zionists. However, the prices of his diapers have risen to $105 for a packet, as the zionists withhold all supplies for the youngest Palestinians in Gaza. The nylon used as an emergency substitute leads Abdullah to react badly on his skin, causing him to cry constantly, increasing the exhaustion of the whole family, especially at night, where sleep is scarce because of the constant terrifying bombardments.
